James is a consultant in the Capital Markets practice with broad experience as a general corporate lawyer in New York, London, Hong Kong and Singapore. Initially practicing as a private equity associate at a top-tier US law firm in New York, his practice moved into debt and equity capital markets transactions, including rescue rights issues, upon joining a Magic Circle firm in London during the Global Financial Crisis. James moved to Hong Kong in 2009 developing extensive expertise as an US securities lawyer covering Hong Kong, Singapore and other APAC capital markets.

In 2018, James went in-house at an international asset manager with a portfolio covering capital markets transactions, sanctions regimes, APAC investment restrictions and regulations and risk management planning.
