Chloe’s practice is focused on private client and general corporate matters. She regularly advises high net worth clients and family offices on trusts, tax and succession planning, asset protection, probate and estate administration, philanthropy, corporate restructuring and mergers and acquisitions. To supplement her experience, Chloe was seconded to a major Swiss bank where she assisted in their integration of a substantial client base following a merger and provided general advisory services in their Wealth and Tax Planning department.

Chloe is a Trusts and Estate Practitioner with STEP (The Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioner) and serves as a member of the STEP China Development Sub-Committee and Wills and Estate Sub-Committee in Hong Kong. Chloe was awarded distinction in the Diploma in International Trust Management organized by STEP.

Representative Matters
  • Advising a family office of a private real estate developer with global assets of over USD5 billion on trusts, tax, estate planning, mergers and acquisitions, loan financing and disclosure and compliance issues
  • Acted for an independent trustee in defending two trusts and their global assets of over USD200 million from attack by the settlor’s creditors pursuant to Mareva Injunction Orders and Disclosure Orders granted by Hong Kong and Singapore courts
  • Advised a group of 18 PRC founders and executives on the settlement of pre-IPO trusts and addressed issues relating to PRC tax laws, pre-listing structuring, employee stock option scheme and disclosure and compliance matters. The company was successfully listed on a major US exchange
  • Advised the controlling shareholders holding over 60% of a Hong Kong listed company on their shareholding restructuring and settlement of offshore trusts, addressing Hong Kong securities regulatory issues, Hong Kong stamp duty issues and PRC tax issues arising therefrom
  • Advised on the acquisition of a hotel worth USD250 million in Canada and the settlement of a trust structure to address confidentiality, succession planning and tax concerns relating thereto
  • Advised a Hong Kong private real estate developer on the restructuring of various trusts with over USD1 billion in assets and real estate and successfully obtained Hong Kong stamp duty exemption
  • Advising on the formation of Hong Kong charities and related governance matters and obtaining tax exemption status for charities under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance
